Welcome to Tom Blackmore's freelance company Arctictiger.
I have provided products and services to major websites, local authorities, universities and software vendors.
I specialise in both spatial data in the browser and on mobile devices. I have experience of building services on a variety of different backends and in a variety of programming languages.

Google Earth for schools
I provide a half day training course in Google Earth for up to 20 teachers. The course is designed to give teachers the skills they need to start creating exciting lessons and tasks based on this fantastic tool.
The handbook for the course is available here. This course has been exceptionally popular. References from a number of Swedish schools are available.
Products
Arctictiger LBS

An iPhone, iPad and Android location based service that can be customised to connect to any dataset, for the viewing, collecting and editing of point data in the field. The service is versatile and can be combined with a number of different map sources, including google, openstreetmap, mapguide, ArcGIS server etc.
WUI (Webkit -ui)

A simple, bsd licensed, webkit user interface for use on a range of mobile devices, including iOS and Android. The library is built to be independent of other js libraries such as jQuery to give it a small foot print.

Google Earth handbook for Swedish Schools

I have developed a handbook used for training pupils and teachers how to use Google Earth. The handbook was financed by GIS i Västmanland; at present it is only available in Swedish. It is currently available as a pdf version and an editable version is available on github .
